American Southwest

Anyone who travels to the American Southwest experiences a unique juxtaposition of art, architecture and landscape. Santa Fe Sun, inspired by such a visit, features a flat, stylized sun motif suggestive of a block print: it is meant to conjure the spirit of the extraordinary folk pieces from the Alexander Girard collection in Santa Fe’s Museum of International Folk Art. The pattern’s polychromed palette of brights mixed with earth tones simultaneously represents the vibrancy of the Girard holdings and the cactus, turquoise , and adobe hues traditionally associated with the city itself.

Sedona Stripe is an ideal background/complement fabric for Santa Fe Sun, as both patterns incorporate the same cotton and linen yarns. Here linen provides subtle texture to contrast with a crisp cotton ticking stripe in colors conveying the desert landscape. Used by itself, this pattern adds graphic interest to any space, while keeping the look fresh.

Hacienda's nubby surface and color-with-neutral palette calls to mind handspun or handwoven native textiles. The rayon/cotton/poly construction uses a range of smooth and textured yarns for visual dimension, yet it retains a comfortable hand. Earthy desert colorways easily coordinate with Sedona Stripe and Santa Fe Sun.
