Sina Pearson Wins Best of Year Award from Interior Design Magazine

Sina Pearson's Pasta collection, effusively colorful stripes, was the favorite of 22,000 interior designers and specifiers in a product competition sponsored by Interior Design Magazine. The online contest posted photos and asked designers to vote; her win was announced November 29 at a gala attended by 700 at the new New York Times building in Manhattan.

The Pasta Collection

Pasta's complex patterns feature unexpected color combinations "like the blending of flavors in a complex sauce," she explains. Indeed, the colorways are named for pasta sauces, from carbonara to marinara. A collection inspired by sauces ought to be spill-proof, and this fabric's got it, incorporating Crypton® technology to prevent stain absorption, as well as mildew, microbes, odors and abrasion.

The Wine Country Collection

We are pleased to introduce The Wine Country Collection: Vineyard has bolder, large scale metallic leaves while Sonoma, its complement, has a silk-like multi-toned weave that creates the perfect plain. Inspired by the lush overgrown garden spaces hidden away from the outside world, Secret Garden has an Aubusson-tapestry floral pattern highlighted with bronze threads. The patterns were designed using children’s drawings of what they consider to be ‘good things’ and are filled with expressions of joy, hope and love. Pizza, vacation and ice cream also make an appearance in the original signed artwork woven into 6 happy colorways.

The fabrics were created to bring awareness to the Quilts for Kids charity, which makes and distributes handmade quilts to hospitalized children throughout the country. The cotton fabrics used to make the quilts would otherwise be tossed in the landfill, so the charity keeps the earth happy as well. The Starry Night Collection

The Starry Night Collection includes three patterns inspired by the wondrous universe visible in the clear night sky. As dusk turns to darkness, billions of stars, planets and moons begin to appear, some shining alone and bright, others so far away they seem to be stardust. Star Light, Star Bright is a mid scale pattern inspired by the singular bright stars we wish upon during our childhood. Galaxy is its smaller scale complement. Both fabrics are woven in three neutral colorways in metallic yarns that give them a reflective glow. Milky Way is a jacquard woven flat weave that simulates chenille, yet has a smooth surface for easy cleaning. Soft in texture and color, the fabric is instantly comforting. All three patterns are woven with Crypton® technology, making them ideal for restaurant/hospitality use where liquid spills are a concern. Our newest introduction is Santa Fe Sun, a cotton/nylon fabric whose multicolor pattern is inspired by the world of folk art. One of the best collections in the world (and donated by Alexander Girard) is in Santa Fe at the Museum of International Folk Art. Santa Fe Sun has almost a block print quality to its pattern, and each of its 7 colorways picks up the regions most important hues, including the cactus greens, Navajo turquoise and adobe brick.
