Special Finishes
Sina Pearson Textiles fabrics can be specially treated for flammability, soil and stain resistance and acrylic backing for upholstery and wall covering application. The choice of finish for a particular fabric is the sole responsibility of the purchaser. Sina Pearson Textiles is not responsible for any changes that may occur in the finishing of the fabric. All Sina Pearson Textiles fabrics are manufactured to comply with the California Upholstered Furniture Flammability Code Bulletin #117, Section E, Part 1, revised January 1980. Additional tests performed on individual fabrics are listed in the current price list under each item's name. Many of the fabrics can be durably flame retarded to meet other codes. When arranging for application of flame retardant finishes the customer must advise in writing:
The finisher will issue a certificate to the customer verifying the specified flame retardant test results. Soil and Stain Resistant Finishes
All Sina Pearson Textiles fabrics can be treated with Teflon®, a silicone stain repellent finish.
Nano-Tex is a high performance specialty finish that can be applied to virtually any fabric (excluding olefin and some velvet or chenille constructions). It creates a permanent soil and stain repellent finish that is easily cleaned and is breathable. The process also increases product strength and durability and offers mold/mildew protection. Once a fabric has been treated with Nano-Tex, DuraBlockTM, a moisture-proof backing can be applied for additional protection. Nano-Tex treated fabrics can be cleaned by following the appropriate instructions for the particular fiber type.
All Sina Pearson Textiles fabrics can be treated with acrylic latex backing for use on walls or upholstery application. Sina Pearson Textiles is not responsible for any distortion of weave that may occur, nor for the suitability of backing selected for method of application. The specific use must be provided on the purchase order. Upholstery fabrics woven of 100% Avora® FR polyester should not be treated with acrylic latex backing unless FR qualities are not required in the installation, since such treatments may adversely affect their inherently flame retardant characteristics. Fabrics woven of 100% nylon are not suitable for vertical application.
Fabrics may shrink during finishing processes. An additional 1 yard per roll should be ordered to assure the finished fabric will be the required length.
Sina Pearson Textiles will ship approved SPT fabrics to a finisher selected by Sina Pearson Textiles at the risk of the customer. Before shipping, the customer will be billed by Sina Pearson Textiles for the fabric, cost of finshing, and freight to the finisher and final destination. Charges for the processing and handling are listed below. Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing.
* Note: Add 1 yard per roll for working loss or shrinkage during processing.
