Good Things is a fabric whose pattern was created using messages of love from one child to another. It is about all the things we hope for, not only for ourselves, but for everyone. When a group of 7-year-old New Jersey students were asked to make drawings of good things to cheer up hospitalized children, they knew exactly what to draw. What makes us feel good? Ice cream. Sports. Pizza. A smile. Love. In the simplest of words, these children have spelled out and illustrated what we all know to be good things. Good Things provides the designer with a fabric that no matter where used, will send a message of love. That love is in the drawings themselves, and makes its way to the recipient in the form of a donation made for every yard sold: The Quilts for Kids Charity. Founded in 2000, its mission is to give an original hand sewn quilt to any sick child who wants one. The discontinued cotton fabrics made into the quilts would have otherwise been discarded in landfills, so there is even an added benefit to the planet earth. Not only is the fabric pattern full of good things to think about, its playful colors bring a smile to anyone’s face.
